01 — Project Overview

Location: Calistoga, Napa Valley
Project Type: Custom Residence (Fire Rebuild)
Timeline: July 2019 – March 2021
Scope: General Contracting • Project Management • Outdoor Living

Chateau Calistoga is a thoughtfully rebuilt 3,900-square-foot primary residence paired with a 2,500-square-foot car barn, set on six rural acres in Napa Valley. Originally lost in the 2017 Tubbs Fire, this project was more than construction—it was restoration with purpose.

The home features two bedrooms, three bathrooms, and expansive porches designed to extend daily living outdoors. New landscaping and improved driveways enhance both approach and arrival, reconnecting the residence to its vineyard and olive tree surroundings.

02 — Client Vision

This home was envisioned as the clients’ ideal retirement retreat—an opportunity to recreate a beloved residence on the perfect Napa Valley property. The goal was to blend nostalgia with modern comfort.

With just two bedrooms but generous open living spaces, the design prioritized entertaining. The result is both a private haven and an elegant gathering place—refined, welcoming, and deeply personal.

03 — Site & Jurisdiction

Set on six rural acres, the rebuild required full compliance with Napa County’s fire-safe standards. Every decision balanced safety, durability, and aesthetic integrity—ensuring the home met stringent requirements while maintaining its architectural character.

04 — Design Collaboration

Architect: Wade Design Architects
Interior Design: Jennifer Robin Interiors
Builder: Chandler Brothers Construction

The architectural intent honored the form of the original home while refining it for today’s living. Interiors were layered with warmth and understated elegance. The collaboration remained aligned from initial planning through final installation, ensuring every detail reflected the shared vision.

05 — Build Strategy & Execution

As a fire rebuild, the approach required sensitivity and precision. Surviving trees were preserved wherever possible, anchoring the new landscape to what endured. Construction was carefully phased—from site preparation and structural framing to interior completion and outdoor enhancements.

Budget and schedule were actively managed throughout, with continuous coordination between architect, interior designer, and trade partners. The result is a home that feels both familiar and entirely renewed.

06 — Before & After Impact

Before construction began, the property represented uncertainty—a blank slate shaped by loss.

Today, it stands as a fulfilled vision: a private Napa Valley retreat complete with pool, refined outdoor living spaces, and thoughtful landscape integration. The home delivers not only lifestyle enjoyment but lasting value—built to serve its owners for years to come.
